 WE GO FAQs

What’s the mission of WE GO International?

WE GO International brings diverse groups from across the world together to experience international volunteer projects that build truly deep connections—changing us and our world from within.

CONNECT. LEARN. SHARE. SERVE.

What makes WE GO different?

WE GO focuses on engaging people of color as global citizens --- especially youth.

Many of the urban youth will never leave their local cities and only experience the world from their phones.

Our goal is to help our youth to understand their gifts, their impact across the world and return home with better perspectives and innovation for impacting their communities.

What countries does WE GO serve?

Today: Jamaica and Zanzibar

Future:  Tanzania, Brazil, and Botswana

What is the cost of WE GO trips and what’s included?

We estimate $1500-$2200*

*Trip Cost includes estimated double occupancy lodging, 2 to 3 meals per day, in-country transportation, security, and outings.

What costs are not included?

Additional costs not included in trip fee: airfare, travel insurance, tours, passport and visa fees, recommended vaccinations/medications, meals on travel days, and baggage fees.

Will we experience other parts of local culture?

Definitely.  On average we have 2 to 3 outings/excursions planned to introduce you to the country's history, beautiful landscape, and people.

Can I arrange my own volunteer team and set a date?

Yes. We double check with our in-country partners to make sure their needs align with the dates you have selected.  For example, we must make sure the school is in session if tutoring is the project.

Are there other projects?

Our primary focus is literacy education, as a means to empower and uplift the countries we serve.  Let us know what your other interests may be, and we will see if they align with the needs of our partners.

Will I be safe?

Safety is our top priority. WE GO relies on information from our in-country staff, as well as the U.S. State Department and Center for Disease Control in discerning when it is not safe to travel. While traveling, we always include a driver and security when appropriate. Our itineraries are planned in advance of the trip and designed to ensure the safety of the team. Should travel conditions or conditions in the host country be deemed to be unsafe, WE GO will cancel, reschedule and/or change in-country itineraries immediately and without prior notice.

Does WE GO cancel scheduled trips?

WE GO International reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, and/or change in-country itineraries for a trip without notice. Although rare, this is most likely to occur due to one of the following conditions:

1.Travel conditions or conditions in the host country are deemed to be unsafe. We rely on information and recommendations from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention, and our in-country partners in making this decision.

2.The volunteer trip fails to achieve the minimum number of team members required to make the trip feasible.

Can I reschedule my trip?

If you need to reschedule your volunteer trip, WE GO will help you find a new date to go with another team.

Is my trip fee refundable?

Your trip fee is fully refundable 60 days prior to the trip start date and 50% refundable 30 days prior to the trip start date.

Do I need vaccinations?

Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before every trip. Some of these vaccines may include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.
